Alex’s State of the Apps Address

I’ve been working non-stop lately to create new apps while continuously updating and improving my existing apps. That said, I wanted to provide an update on the current state of my iPhone and iPad applications.

New/Pending iPhone Apps!
In the light of the upcoming start of the UFL’s second season, I have developed iPhone Apps for each of the UFL’s teams. These apps are pocket guides to the teams that will provide you with their schedule, roster, and other important information (such as venue details and league standings). I will be updating each team’s information and game scores as they change so the apps will have very accurate and up-to-date information. I have submitted five new apps to Apple, one for each team, and I am waiting for their approval and future release. I will announce the release upon Apple’s approval.

The Apps:
Sacramento Football Guide
Las Vegas Football Guide
Florida Football Guide
Hartford Football Guide
Omaha Football Guide

Each of these apps will be available for $0.99 in the iTunes App Store once released.

Future App!
For the super UFL fan I am currently in development of what will become the United Football Guide which will include the content of all five of the separate team apps at a discounted rate (to be decided). This way you will be able to keep up-to-date on all of the UFL’s teams across the country! This app is planned to be submitted to Apple by the 12th and will hopefully become available shortly after.

Future App Updates
I am also currently planning updates to both Sketch n’ Guess (v1.2.2) and Sketch n’ Guess Lite (v1.0.5). This update will include an “End Turn” type button that will allow the current team to forfeit their turn in case they decide they won’t be able to guess the theme and want to continue with the game. This update will be submitted to Apple by the 12th so make sure to check the App Store for updates in the near future!

App Ideas!
I love when people come to me with ideas for updates to my apps. I have had several people come to me with great ideas for improvements to Sketch n’ Guess which I have added to the game. If you have any ideas or suggestions for improvements to any of my apps, please don’t hesitate to let me know about them!

Disclaimer: These applications are not officially licensed and are in no way affiliated with the United Football League or any of the associated teams (Sacramento Mountain Lions, Florida Tuskers, Las Vegas Locomotives, Hartford Colonials, or Omaha Blackhawks).

Alex Rude in Billboard Magazine

As I am finishing the final touches on the upcoming Vans Warped Tour Offical iPhone App update (version 1.0.3), I remembered that I had yet to share (on my website) the Billboard Magazine article that the app and myself were mentioned in.

Before I do so, here is a little background information…

About a month ago I was contact by an author for Billboard Magazine who was writing an article discussing how concerts have evolved with the prevalence of social media in today’s society. After first talking to the people at Warped Tour and learning about how the app came together, and about myself, he wanted to interview me about my experience working with Warped Tour and making the app. Shortly after the interview I stumbled upon the article on Reuters and later I found it on the Billboard Magazine website.

New AlexRude.com Blog

I have continually had an on-again, off-again blog here at AlexRude.com.  With my latest website design that I implemented to better market my iPhone and iPad app projects I really didn’t have a method to easily incorporate content or a blog so I had once again removed the blog.  After starring at my design for the last several weeks and struggling to figure out a clean method to add more content regarding my apps or my projects I have settled on using this existing site as a home/landing page and having this sub-site (created using WordPress) as a blog and app project repository.

Unfortunately, my last few years of blog postings were all part of a self-developed blog system and not part of a WordPress system.  I will look into importing the old posts, but they may be lost with the transition.

Anyways, I may this blog may not be an active development blog, but I will be using it to post updates for all of my apps.

Note: I will be continually working on updating the blog, its pages, and the WordPress design in the upcoming days/weeks.  I will update when completed.
